The Hrishi and Nandi Bail My grandfather read me a lot of stories ,most of them on our Gods. Did a fusion of a Saki story and a grandfather story and made a remix ………………….. In Lord Shiva’s temple there is, always at the gate the Nandi Bail, his carrier and faithful companion. Nandi is said to be blessed with great pragmatic wisdom and street-smartness that complements Bholenath’s bholapan ! A temple near my home has a big Nandi bail whom all children love. Nandi’s neighbor is an idol of a hrishimuni ( great saint ).
